In contrast to the Floating felts, where the finished textile art piece normally suggests the title, this range of work begins with an idea or concept and proceeds creatively from there.
Shown here is a range of, predominantly semi-abstract, textile art inspired by pop[ular] culture and the Brit-Art conceptual artists. I often start with an idea from a song title, or maybe just play around for a while with a cultural icon or some words in my head.
Most of my textile art work on this page is framed conventionally, except Kiss Kiss and Jack, which are framed like Floating Felts.
